Hapur / Pilkhuwa. Two policemen posted at the Marwar police post demanded a bribe of Rs one lakh from the truck owner in the name of overturning raw coconuts from a truck damaged in a road accident to another truck.
On the complaint, SP Abhishek Verma reached the outpost in plain clothes. The policemen took Rs 9,000 as bribe in front of SP Abhishek Verma. After which the SP called Pilkhuwa Kotwal on the spot and arrested both of them. A case has been registered against both the policemen under relevant sections.
Maninder, a resident of Duvaldhan police station Beri district Jhajjar of Haryana, told that his father Kaptan Singh has a transport business. On Wednesday, driver Sannu Khan resident Jahar Kheda district Alwar Rajasthan Maddur Karnataka along with raw coconut was going to Moradabad. The truck got punctured on top of Pilkhuwa flyover. After which a roadways bus coming from behind collided with the truck. The policemen posted at the Marwar outpost of Pilkhuwa brought the truck to the outpost and made it stand.
It is alleged that constables Gaurav and Yashveer, posted at Marwar outpost, demanded Rs one lakh in the name of getting the coconut from the damaged truck overturned in another truck. The truck owner told that the truck had goods worth lakhs of rupees, which would have got spoiled if there was a delay of four to five days. Citing this, the policemen started demanding bribe from him. Later it was decided to pay Rs 25,000.
Truck owner’s son complained to SP
Maninder, son of the truck owner, spoke to the policemen on the phone when the policemen asked for bribe. After that the matter was settled for 25000. Maninder called SP Abhishek Verma at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday night and informed about the whole matter. After which the SP planned to catch the policemen red-handed.
SP Abhishek Verma told that at around 12.30 he reached the Marwar police post in a private car in plain clothes. Here, some distance away from the post, he had already asked Maninder and the people present with him to reach the post and give the money. The SP also reached the outpost along with these people.
Where both the policemen were present. Both demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000. After which nine thousand rupees were given to him, there was talk of giving the rest after some time. The big thing is that the policemen could not recognize the SP and the bribe deal took place in front of him. In front of him,
both the policemen also held Rs 9,000. Angered by the incident, the SP immediately called Pilkhuwa Kotwal Neeraj Kumar to the spot and both the policemen were taken into custody. A case was registered against them and they were sent to jail in the morning.
Both the accused are 2020-21 batch soldiers
SP Abhishek Verma told that the constable who stained khaki is a resident of Sanjaypir village of Yashveer district Firozabad and Gaurav is a resident of Nangalratu village of Mathura district. Both the constables belong to the 2020-21 batch and were posted in Hapur for the last one and a half years. While this act of both of them has defamed Khaki, at the same time they have also ruined their own future.
